Picea alpestris or Picea abies

Posted 601 days ago

Hi:

Can anyone inform where I can purchase spruce trees in Australia i.e. the German xmas tree type Picea alpestris or Picea abies ? If so will they grow in southern Qld at Samford, being a mountainous cold area?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

best regards
John

A local nursery could tell you if the Picea you want is available or whether they could order it in for you.

I have my doubts that this tree could be grown at Samford. Although I know very little about the Picea, the fact that I have never seen any growing in SEQ tells me our climate isn't suitable for them.
