grasshoppers

can someone please tell me how to get rid of grasshoppers. I have a few happy plants, they did look good for a while then they got eaten serverly. I cut them back and they grew back better than ever, and now they look awful again i'm on the verge of digging them out please help as they can be a beautiful plant.

We get an annual grasshopper plague and all i can do is net the plants they love the most and the ones i love the most and they tend to move on. i live on a cattle property so my garden is the only thing green within miles

ok thanks i suppose i'll try that theres not much more i can do i live in town not on a property so mines not the garden thanks
