Making a Frangpani shoot a branch

Posted 733 days ago

Hi all.
Can anyone tell me if I can do anything to make a fran shoot a branch.
We have a young multi coloured, 3 crowns, grafted on to a ???? fran trunk?, so I dont really know how old it is. The top leaves are about my height, 172 cms, 5'8".
It's going to be terrific, though Im wondering if it might get top heavy on the graft and think I remember something like if you cut a nick it may sprout a branch??
I will happily add a pic if that function is available here?? or someone can tell me how to do that as well.
Any words of experience and wisdom appreciated.
