Hi Dioni10

Im having the same problem with a 2 storey at the back.have you looked at Marrayas ?they grow to 3 meters, are evergreens, grow quickly and the flowers smell lovley. Or maybe Lilli Pilli they grow to abount 6meters.I think that there are smaller ones. Im going with the Marrayas because they a great screen plant.

Clumping Bamboo is a great screen plant. It grows fairly fast. Isn't too wide and doesn't have a huge spread. Just make sure you get the clumping kind of bamboo.

Hello
I wouldn't use Murraya (Mock Orange). Many of these plants are subject to borer. There are many varieties of Lilly Pilly and you can choose the one that suits your situation best, not sure what applies in SA. It may be appropriate that you plant some quick growing palms (again not sure what grows in SA). Their tall fronds will break up the sight line of the 2 storey house at the upper level and some taller shrubs planted between ie. the Lilly Pilly, will break up the fenceline at the lower level. Neither have invasive roots.
