Help with Frangipanis Posted 734 days ago Question 1.
Can combination lawn weeder/feeder chemicals be ingested by the roots & damage frangipanis?
I watered the lawn with Weed'n'feed a week ago, being careful not to contact the established tree on the foliage or the surrounding ground, with the chemical. After rain in the last few days, the white frangipany has drooping & yellow leaves & flower drop. Prior to this the tree was flowering prolifically. The surrounding flowers & shrubs are not affected.
Question 2.
An adjacent pink frangipani is suffering a different problem. It is a tree of about 10 rears old, which after some frost burn last winter, started to produce leaves in last September. The leaves are red & reached a length of 7cm when they went into a stage of dormancy. The leaves have not altered for the last few months & no flowers have developed.
Can anyone, please shed some light on these 2 problems?
Thanks. |

RE: Help with Frangipanis Posted 733 days ago I'm no Frangi expert so these are only suggestions.
Question 1. How old is the first tree? Could it be waterloged from the recent rain you've had.
Question 2. Not sure about the red colour in the leaves but no flowers, would most likely be from the frost. It burns the tips of the trees which is where the flowers come from. You just got to hope that frost doesn't get to that tree every winter or you'll never get any flowers.
I have the same trouble with mine re frost. |
