Passionfruit daisy - tagetes lemmonii

Posted 548 days ago

Hi, has anybody had success with these seeds? The plant has oodles of marigold type seeds [most marigold seeds grow easily!] but I've had no luck at all with this plant!! I have had some luck with cuttings but would like to grow from seed as well!! Hope someone can help!!!

Tagetes lemonii germinates freely but care must be taken as the seed is extremely fine and will rot readily if too moist (will blow away too). If you create a 'carpet' of the fine seed on top of a good seed raising mix you will usually find a large number of seedlings will germinate - dont cover seed as this tends to promote their rot. A fine mist of moisture every few days is sufficient. Cuttings are certainly very easy.
