Help please, lemon tree overrun with Miele Bug

Posted 762 days ago

Hello Everyone,

I have a lemon tree and for the last few years I have been batteling with the Miele Bug, at least that is what I have been told it is called. It was cut back to nothing and treated on a regular basis but now it is totally over run with this white sticky bug and I am sure it is killing my tree. I have tried so many sprays and what not and have even had the pest control people in to treat it but I can't get rid of it. I have pictures but haven't worked out if/how to post.

I would greatly appreciate any suggestions or help as I am at a total loss and don't know what to do.

Thank you :)

Very unusual problem for an outside plant. Try one part veg. oil to nine parts water with a few drops of dishwash detergent per ten litres. Spray to run-off top and bottom of foliage. If it's mealy-bug, that should see it off. Re-apply after rain. Totally harmless to bees etc. Hope this helps.
