Plants for under Tree Canopy

Posted 771 days ago

I have quite a large area where I have eucalypt trees about 20-30m high and am wanting to plant something underneath these. The front edge of this gets some sun but is mostly shady. It is well mulched with leaves. I live in Casino, north east nsw. I was thinking of natives eg grevillia etc or calliandra's but don't know whether they would get to leggy without the sun. I do like flowering shrubs or something colourful from their leaves to brighten up the area. Something that would grow well about 1 to 2m high and give a look of an established garden quickly.
Thanks Michelle
