Rosemary

Posted 141 days ago

My rosemary is looking a bit tired, it is quite a few years old and I don't want to lose it . Can I prune it a bit now
( in Winter)and then feed it? What fertiliser should I use? thanks for any suggestions - cheers

Hi,
Give it a bit of a prune, keep some cuttings and get those going so as if the rosemary does die you will have some new stock

Kasha is right flowerbrd. Take some tip cuttings of semi hard wood (at the rooting end) about 5" long, strip off the lower leaves for two thirds of the length and slip them into the soil or a pot.

Rosemary doesn't usually need fertilizing but chicken manure should boot it along a bit and a sprinkle of lime would be welcome.

I usually prune mine before winter or in early winter and it thrives by the time the warmer weather hits. I also fertilise it with Thrive, and thats what its really doing.
