Frangapani in Canberra Posted 58 days ago I asked my local garden centre to order me in a frangapani.
It arrived in February. I planted it in a large pot & put on the front verandah. When the weather started to cool down I began to bring it in ever night, in Canberra it gets very cold at night. I have only forgotten to bring it in one night, but it survived ok.
If the weather looks nice, I put it out in the morning & bring it in when I get home at night. If its cold or windy I leave it inside during the day. It gets bright morning sun & the heater runs at about 19 degrees. I water it occasionally & talk to it every day.
Now it is twice the height it was, still has all its leaves & is about to flower, not bad for July in Canberra!
I am very surprised at how it has grown as I normally have little success with plants!
I am not sure what I am going to do when it gets too heavy to carry! _________ Priscilla |

RE: Frangapani in Canberra Posted 37 days ago Awesome Nancy!
I loved reading your post. My Grandma, who's a great gardener, always says to give things a try in the garden and she's had heaps of success' that according to some, couldn't be done.
Who knows, with Global warming, Canberra might be the new tropics and you won't have to bring it inside! _________ from little things, big things grow! |
