Michelia 'Coco'

Posted 524 days ago

We have planted three Michelia 'Coco' shrubs approximately 1m high when we planted them. I need some help as they are not doing very well, lots of the leaves have turned yellow then fallen off, so I fertalised them but that didn't seem to help. A friend suggested adding Chelated Iron to the soil to correct the iron deficiency in the soil, this hasn't seemed to help them either. They have lots of buds of flowers but they fall off before they flower. Can anyone suggest a way to save these shrubs?

I'm not too sure just how long your plants have been in the ground but they should be getting ready to flower now it's spring. Are they planted in well dreined soil? They must have good drainage.

Probably best not to give any more fertiliser till you know that is what they need. The only thing I could recommend is some seasol which isn't a fert in the true sense but it is a plant strengthener.
