Help Lawn Bugs and no Lawn

Posted 466 days ago

Hello,

I have previously spent a lot of money laying Kikuyu turf which over a very short period of time died.

After reccently digging up my backyard to plant grass seeds to try and grown lawn again, I have found lawn grubs.

Does anyone have any tips on how I can get rid of these lawn grubs and fertisling new lawn without harming my two dogs, as I have seen many fertilisers and pesticides that are harmful to pets.

Any advice would be grateful as my backyard is just a large area of dirt at the moment.

Many thanks.

Hi Tammi,
I have heard of putting damp - carpet or hessian (layers) onto the lawn over night & in the morning lifting it up to find the grubs have come to the surface. From there you can pick them off & bin them or find a bird to feed them too, they love them.
Good luck
