passionfruit pollination Posted 510 days ago Does anybody out there know how to hand pollinate passionfruit flowers when there is a shortage of bees,I have heard by a soft brush, but which part of the flower is male and female? I have read on the Web they can do it by just brushing their hand over the flowers. |

RE: passionfruit pollination Posted 502 days ago Hi Dingo, I have the same problem, hundreds of flowers on a very healthy vine that is only 6 months old but only about 20 fruit. I have tried the brush technique but I just brushed all inside and went from one flower to another, I don't think this right though as I think it may have only resulted in a couple of fruit. I will be most interested to see if you get any other answers. |

RE: passionfruit pollination Posted 499 days ago You are right to use a soft brush to hand pollinate but do it gently. |

RE: passionfruit pollination Posted 425 days ago I've tried the brush method & have found it to work but it's best done late in the afternoon when the pollen is most ready/available |
