Pet birds need a variety of foods for good health, and if you want your birds to breed it’s even more critical to feed them correctly. Seed, water and shellgrit are vitally important, but they don’t go far enough. There are lots of treats you can either grow yourself, or buy at the greengrocer. Even if the birds don’t eat these new foods when first offered, it’s worth persisting, as they really do make the birds much healthier and a lot happier.

silverbeet spinach endive
Treats for parrots:
carrot, sliced apples corn, cut up into rings
