‘Burke’s Backyard’ visited the home of aviation ‘nut’ Sam Grima, who is only four years old. His father, Anthony, has built Sam a cubbyhouse in their backyard in the shape of a Qantas aeroplane. In the cubby Sam can pretend to be the pilot he aspires to be.
The cubby is a miniature replica of a Qantas jumbo and was made from reinforced metal rods, sheetmetal and timber which was mounted onto a concrete pylon and painted the Qantas colours of white and red. It measures about 3m (10′) high.
