Don visited this week's celebrity gardener, Madeleine West, at her family home in Kyneton, Victoria.
Best known for her role as Dione Bliss in 'Neighbours', Madeleine hit the headlines two years ago when she was the centre of a real life drama in Sydney. She was hit by a bus and was seriously injured. While she was ill, Madeleine had plenty of time to think about her future career.
After her recovery, she went to the United Kingdom and played the role of Snow White at the Weymouth Pantomime. She also spent nine months in America studying comedy through the prestigious LA-based, Impro Training School. Madeleine came back to Australia and shot her last scenes in 'Neighbours' in April, 2003.
Madeleine will co-star in an NBC telemovie called 'Hercules', filmed in New Zealand and destined for the US market at this stage. She will be appearing alongside Timothy Dalton and Shawn Austen. She will also star with Steve Bisley and Lisa Hensley in 'Big Reef', a telemovie which will go to air next Sunday, October 24, on Channel Nine at 8.30 pm.
Madeleine's mum, Julie, asked Don what to do about all the huntsmen spiders on their property. Don said that spiders such as huntsmen in the garden were signs of a healthy ecosystem and not to worry about them.
