Allan Border retired as the longest serving Australian Test cricketer of all time. He played 156 Test matches, scored a record 11,174 runs and took 156 Test catches. Allan has recently become an Australian selector and a member of the Australian Cricket Board.
Allan and his wife, Jane, have now turned their efforts to charity, and are walking from Sydney to Brisbane to help disadvantaged kids. Money raised will be shared between The Spastic Centre, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, the Children's Cancer Institute of Australia and the NBN "Kids Project" incorporating Telethon 2002.
