Giuseppe Bianchi has been making models of cars, buildings and people for years. Now at the age of 78 years he has opened a museum of his art called the Abruzzo Museum of Art. From the front garden to the back fence his home is a collection of models depicting every aspect of Italian history.
There are models of Roman soldiers, Italian Alpine soldiers and even a model of an Italian man from 600BC. Giuseppe’s model of the Colosseum is made from wood and paper mache which is then painted, it took him a week and a half to make. His model of St Peter’s Basilica took about three months to make and is accompanied by church music. In the backyard there is a model of the leaning Tower of Pisa and a Roman fountain into which coins can be thrown for good luck.
