Tile and Bathroom Cleanser – The French Alternative

Jackie French recommends this tile and bathroom cleanser. It is simple to make, works a treat and smells divine.

Ingredients
  • 6 tablespoons crushed white chalk
  • 1/2 cup Lux soap flakes
  • 6 tablespoons bicarbonate of soda
  • 1 teaspoon eucalyptus oil
  • 1 teaspoon lemon grass, lavender or peppermint oil
  • 3 tablespoons glycerine
  • 1/2 cup water
Method

Put all the ingredients into a blender and blend together (don’t mix too much or it will overflow). Rub the mixture onto dirty bathroom surfaces, then wipe off.

NOTE: because this is slightly abrasive, it may scratch the surface of your plastic blender. You may prefer to use a hand blender in a plastic bowl or an old ice-cream container – then a few scratches won’t matter! Make sure you rinse out all utensils used thoroughly.
