Lip Balm – The French Alternative

If you have trouble with dry cracked lips in winter, why not try Jackie’s homemade lip balm? It soothes, protects and moisturises, and it tastes pretty good too.

Ingredients

  • 6 tablespoons almond oil
  • 3 chamomile tea bags
  • 3 mint tea bags
  • 1 tablespoon beeswax

Method

Place almond oil and tea bags into a saucepan. Cook over very low heat for about half an hour, to extract the active ingredients from the herbs. Remove the tea bags, then add the beeswax and let it melt. Pour the mixture into a jar to set (Tip: if you put the jar on wood or newspaper before filling, it is less likely to crack). Rub onto lips.
