In the Garden > Herbs, Fruit and Vegetables
Although it’s common, one of the strangest plants in the world is the tomato – or Tomatl in the original Aztec. There are a huge number of varieties – varying shades of black, yellow, red, and varying shapes -round shaped, egg shaped, cherry shaped. They also vary in flavour but the most spectacular flavours are found with old-fashioned heritage varieties.
The current (September) issue of the Burke’s Backyard magazine has a pack of seeds of 4 different heritage varieties: Properity; Yellow Oxheart; Yellow Stuffing and College Challenger.
