White Wall Makeover
Don looked at a classic example of a problem faced by many gardeners: a stark, white wall. The owners had tried to soften the brickwork by planting a select variety of birch tree. Betula nigra (select form) ‘Tropical Birch’ grows quickly to around 10m (30′). It has a non-invasive root system and can be planted in paved courtyards or adjacent to hard landscaping. It also tolerates pollution, wet situations, high humidity and temperatures from -15
