Defrosting
Freezers are a handy way to store leftovers for another time. But the method of defrosting by leaving the food on the sink in the sun risks bacterial contamination. So what is the best way to defrost the leftovers when you want to eat them? Geoff Jansz suggests two methods that are hygienic and effective.
1. The best method is to use the fridge to defrost. Simply take the food out of the freezer the night before and put it in the fridge. Overnight the food will gently defrost and is safe and hygienic.
2. The other less preferred method is to use the microwave. Set the microwave on defrost and turn it every two minutes.
