Burke's Backyard Overseas

Don sent Scott Cam and Nigel Ruck to Queenstown for some serious recreation! They spent a day doing the ‘Awesome Foursome’, an extreme adventure combo. It includes a high speed jetboat ride down the Shotover River, a spectacular helicopter flight through Skippers Canyon, white water rafting down the Shotover River and an optional 134 metre bungy jump from The Nevis Highwire.

Queenstown nestles on the shores of Lake Wakatipu, overlooked by the majestic Southern Alps. It’s known as the adventure capital of the world, with something to challenge and thrill all adventure seekers. You can join in, or watch, a massive selection of safe, breath-taking activities.

The boys had a wonderful day, although they both found the bungy jump a little too ‘extreme’.

Scottie said the jump was awesome but he felt that it "was unnatural and went against survival instincts". Nigel opted out of the jump, in fact he flatly refused to let go of the handrail on the gondola!
