Aussie Letterbox Competition Winners

Hundreds of entries were received in the Burke's Backyard Aussie Letterbox Competition. The two outright winners were: Ray Wilsher from Hervey Bay, QLD with the best Ned Kelly; and
Linda Haege from Orange, NSW who sent in a photo of a letterbox in the shape of a huge puff-ball face. It was built by her brother in Narromine, NSW.

Both winners will receive a $500 cash prize and a Burke's Backyard gift pack.

The following eight runners-up will also receive a Burke's Backyard gift pack: Bearded Postman sent in by Daniel Mackay, 1 Milton Street Lismore Heights, NSW 2480. (Daniel takes orders for sculptured letterboxes.)
Legs and red bikini sent in by Vicky Hamey, NSW. The letterbox is on the NSW south coast.
Mayan Temple sent in by Ruben & Angelica Sanzana, WA.
Incredible Hulk sent in by Natalie West, NT.
Snoopy in red plane sent in by Cheryl Leask, WA.
Machine gun sent in by Mick Cantwell, VIC.
Lighthouse sent in by Ross & Jane Altmann, VIC.
Legs in Toilet sent in by Ken Holmes, QLD. The letterbox is located on the Sunshine Coast.

Thank you to all those people who entered. A selection of the many hundreds of photographs we received will be published in the new Burke's Backyard magazine. The first issue of the magazine, July 1998, will be launched in mid June.
