Mini Mondo Grass

For practical outdoor areas concrete slabs or tiles are a suitable finish but can look bleak and horrible. One solution is to soften the look by using Miniature Mondo grass (Ophiopogon japonicus ‘Nanus’) around the edges of the groups of slabs. The concrete slabs in our story were 45x45cm (18×18″). The same technique could be used around other materials such as reconstituted sandstone used as slabs or tiles. The Miniature Mondo grass is not tall enough to trip over, so it’s not impractical to use it to soften a harsh concreted area. It would mean the area wouldn’t be suitable for children to ride tricycles but would still be suited to entertaining.
