Spring flowers

Many plants are starting to flower now that spring is in the air. Don looked at Grevillea ‘Little Miss Muffet’. It is a hybrid between G. sericea and G. speciosa, and has very pretty pink spider-like flower clusters.

The native hibiscus (Alyogyne huegelii) is also covered in beautiful, lilac, hibiscus-like flowers at the moment. It is an open shrub to about 2m (6′). It is hardy, long flowering and attractive to birds. The plant can be kept bushy in cultivation with an annual prune, and will grow in most parts of mainland Australia, except for tropical and mountainous areas.
