And as a bonus for Don Burke’s 2UE listeners, we have a simple recipe where a pinch of nutmeg at the end makes all the difference.

Stir-fried silverbeet with nutmeg

Heat some light olive oil in a frypan and stir-fry a bunch of washed and chopped silverbeet leaves over fairly high heat for a few minutes, until the leaves start to wilt.

Season with salt and pepper to taste, then toss in a handful of sultanas, a handful of pine nuts and keep stir-frying for one minute more. Sprinkle with a generous pinch of nutmeg just before serving. Serve as a side dish.
