want to plant a jacaranda, not sure how the root systems is. can be planted near reticulation? also needpermission ifi wwant to plant it near the verge as i believed that’s council land..

Answer: It should be fine, Isabel. It is rare for plants to break pipes. If a pipe leaks – eg old fashioned terracotta sewerage pipes, roots are attracted and grow into it and block it. Irrigation systems are plastic and usually don’t leak, so no problems. As long as the tree is 3m or more away from pipes it is very unlikely to cause any harm. Don
