Food For Wild Birds

You’ll hear some pseudo animal experts saying that you should not put food out for wild birds. They say that this does them harm.

Research around the world has shown that the vast majority of wild birds that are fed by people survive better and breed better.

In Australia as houses are built, the natural foods for wild birds are often destroyed. For seed eating birds, for instance, the native seeding grasses are replaced by lawns that offer no food at all.

Feeding seed to parrots and finches allows them to survive in your area while they adapt to feeding from plants that are new to them such as many garden weeds and quite a few garden plants as well.

Feed the native birds so that your grandchildren can enjoy them instead of feral pigeons and sparrows.

Hooroo! Don.
