Gardenias
You could argue that the humble gardenia is the world’s best flowering shrub.
It has beautiful glossy deep green leaves, stunning white flowers over many months and the flowers are beautifully perfumed.
It doesn’t get much better than this. There are many good gardenias. There is the lovely groundcover one called ‘Radicans’, there is the one with the huge flowers called ‘Magnifica’ and there is the best one of all called ‘Florida’. There are also many new types of gardenias.
Gardenias love chook poo or duck poo. They prefer a sunny position and watering once a week.
