Don’s Tips: Fungus Disease

Fungus Disease

The steamy, humid days of January to March are the times when fungal diseases spread like wildfire.

So it’s a good idea to check your plants thoroughly now for diseases:

• if you see a whitish powdery coating on the leaves of vegies, roses, crepe myrtles, English oaks etc., this means that you have powdery mildew. Spray this with Eco fungicide which is very safe for people. Pot plants with powdery mildew may just need more sun by the way.

• if you see dieback or apparent leaf burn, it could be root rot. Treat this with Yates Anti Rot in a watering can.

Both of these treatments are totally safe to use, being almost food grade products themselves.

For foot rot (tinea) try tea tree or eucalyptus oil!

Check for fungus diseases now.
