Bindii
For those of you cursed with the dreaded prickles from bindii in the lawn, now could be the time to spray with bindii killer.
If you choose to spray, do it now, before Spring.
Spraying, however, doesn’t work all that well as the bindii will return next year. Far better to aerate the lawn. Bindii grows in areas of compacted soil where the lawn struggles. If you rent a power lawn aerator in September or October from an equipment hire shop, you can permanently beat the bindii.
Aerate the lawn, then sow runners of sods to repair the lawn. After 4 weeks fertilise and water really well. Soon you will have a stunning lawn.
